Photo by @Cristina Mittermeier // The ice bridge that forms between the Canadian Arctic and Greenland has been the highway for Inuit people for millennia and will be the last stronghold for wildlife as the Arctic warms up. In 1988, as many as 80% of Greenlandic huskies fell ill and died during an epidemic of canine distemper. It was the Canadian huskies, who traveled across the ice bridge, that brought new hope to their brethren in Greenland. The dogs we see today are the descendants of these nomads of the Canadian ice.
