We went to the wild wild woods yesterday and found a piece of ourselves once again amidst the trees along the riverside. It was bitter cold especially near the water and we stayed well past our hands turning red and going numb and it was in fact glorious and very much needed sustenance for the soul.

We later found ourselves thawing out at the secret cafe and to our delight was able have the hidden nook in the back all to ourselves. I journaled my heart out while my son made use of the activity shelf full of all kinds of treasures. And on the way back home, he said, “Mom. We need to go be in the woods more.” We do indeed. My wise old soul of a son. And we shall.
