Today is World Cancer Day and my heart goes out to all who live with and have lost their precious lives to this terrible disease. As you may know my mother has been battling stage 3 bowel cancer for the past two years and is still undergoing her treatment. Cancer has taken the strong energetic and outgoing woman she once was and replaced her with a weak and frail ghost, a shell of what she once was. When I was told I had abnormal cervical cells three years ago my mum was so worried about me, having CIN2 scared the life out of me but I was lucky to have received treatment quickly to live without cancer. Sadly my mum wasn’t as fortunate as hers wasn’t found for a long time and the thought of losing her chills me to the bone.
