Our takeover showcasing the most epic paddling adventures of Eddie Bauer #kayaker, @benstookesberry, comes to a conclusion in Apaporis. "As you may have already guessed @ckorbulic was on this mission with me. I guess he's that special kind of friend that never says no (sometimes even when I am saying no). But like most of our missions, we were joined by a world class, multi-national crew including @julesdomine, @aniolserrasolses, and @jessierice. It was well reported that our goal to descend the 700 mile length of the Apaporis ended after we were detained by FARC rebels 500 miles into the descent. What may not be as well known is that this mostly flat jungle river is the wildest place I have ever seen. At one point we entered a zone populated by people that had probably lived along the river for more than a 1,000 years where dozen's of boats crisscrossed the river without a single engine in sight or earshot.”
