Remembering MLK Jr. and the power of his love, wisdom and faith in the truth that love heals all. He was directly influenced by Gandhi’s revolutionary power of non-violence. MLK argued that the Gandhian philosophy was ‘‘the only morally and practically sound method open to oppressed people in their struggle for freedom’’. A revolution without weapons - can you BELIEVE?
The sheer power in that. WITHOUT WEAPONS. And, ‘behind every great man’...Coretta Scott King. Is it ‘behind’ or ‘aside’? I think the latter. And how MLKs infidelities were used by the FBI to try and break him; and by extension her. But she did not break. She knew what he had suffered; what he himself had overcome to BE the leader he was. She was not going to aid him in his self destruction - despite the pain to her ego. So she rose above ego and her Higher Self, her true self, stood shoulder to shoulder with him. Pain teaches us everything we need to know. And still we Rise. Thank you Martin and Coretta. Thank you for the lessons of your lives. X T
