This guy really was invincible. With one of my sandals, his fishing rod and line he brought in a two-meter Caiman right in front of my lens. I still remember him shouting to me when I carefully pressed the record trigger ‘don’t worry, don’t worry, he won’t bite you!’ Johnny is a pure legend and we got shocked when we heard he died of a heart attack two days after we released the short docu. ‘Surrounded by Water’ is a tribute to the best wildlife guide in the Pantanal.
