Video and text by Michael Zomer @mikey_business | Everybody told us not to go, but we just went for it. A big storm appeared on the radar and was going to hit the North-West of Iceland. The conditions and locations looked perfect to capture pro kiteboarder and storm chaser @rubenlen10 on his comeback after a tough battle against cancer. Unfortunately, upon arriving, the storm changed into a big blizzard with zero visibility and 50 knots freezing cold wind. Nobody in Iceland understood the purpose of our visit, and everybody forced us to stay inside. I tried to convince Ruben to believe that at the coast there wouldn't be any snow, and the conditions would be perfect. A big gamble and a snowy journey brought us to the west fjords of Iceland and turned into one of the most epic kiteboard sessions I’ve ever filmed! Link to full video in the bio of my Instagram.
