Photo by Jodi Cobb. @jodicobbphoto // Somewhere in the Pacific Islands, there is a beautiful bay with a huge sandbar that only reveals itself at very low tide and only is accessible by boat. Local residents wait for the perfect moment when the tides, the setting sun, and the end of the holiday season align in perfect harmony, and sail in secret with their exhausted Christmas trees on the bows to burn them in a massive bonfire as darkness falls. When the tides reclaim the sandbar, all traces of the boats, trees, celebration and holiday are erased, and no one but the participants have any idea of the beauty and magic of the evening.
