12 December 2017 - @jimmy_chin is the man in red. This section of rock, in geologic time, recently fell down. Instead of the upside down wind sculpted heucos we were familiar with, this pitch treated us to smaller cracks and proper edges. Which also created Jimmy’s favorite type of “mind riot” climbing - loose blocks. By the time he built the belay and I had cleaned the pitch Jimmy was quite chilly. It’s not like he could run up a hill to generate heat. Simply layering up with both down jackets, swinging his arms and stamping his feet were the only way to generate heat. It was still miserable. At least the views were enjoyable.
