I had met @ishodwair only briefly before I flew out to New Jersey to shoot him and his family for his first episode of PUSH. I really did not know what to expect. It’s always a bit awkward rolling in to people’s homes, their lives and everything that goes on in them, with a crew of people armed with wireless mics and RED cameras trying to capture everything you say. Some people are really good with the camera and some are definitely not. In Ishod and his family’s case, they were perfect. His mother and his sisters were so gracious and communicative and they brought out a side in Ishod that I felt extremely privileged to capture. The human side. Something I’m not used to seeing because every time I see him skate I see nothing but stars. He is that dynamic to watch. I think you could put a hundred people in a room and I think every single one of them would put Ishod on their top 5 list of best skaters in the game right now.
