Take a trip to Abraham Lake in the colder months and you’ll see these frozen bubbles that fascinate visitors. The bubbles are a result of methane from dead organic matter at the bottom of the lake. Bacteria below feed on the matter and then release methane, which turns into these frozen bubbles as they float to the top and come into contact with the frozen surface.
