Such an important, classic text examining the history of the fight for women’s rights. Davis highlights the grave consequences of fighting sexism without centering anti-racism and in fighting racism without an anti-sexist framework. In both of these cases, it is women of color who are primarily left behind. When movements are led by middle/upper class folks, they too often ignore the needs of poor/working class people and especially poor/working class women of color. And this is is still the reason that that poor and working class women of color are *currently* the most marginalized by the oppressive forces of sexism, racism, and classism enforced through capitalism.
