We just celebrated my baby’s birthday and this may have happened a few times. My youngest turned 8. Or 96 months. ?? So yeah, technically not a baby. But MY baby.

I remember writing about his birth shortly after it happened. I was kinda going through the motions during the entire pregnancy (it was my fourth, after all). When he was born, the nurses placed his new, sticky body on my bare chest and something inside me changed. Something new clicked into place. I’ve never been the same.
I felt like the Grinch whose heart grew three times that day. I never knew how much I needed him and how much I loved this new baby. He completed our family and my heart.
Babies do that to you. Kids do that to you. Garsh, now I’m all sentimental.
