The Mnuchin-Carranza notes, which are a new series of 2017, 50-subject $1 notes, will be sent to the Federal Reserve to be issued into circulation. The pictures reignited online commentary about how the couple is perceived to flaunt wealth. Mnuchin drew criticism for requesting government aircraft for his European honeymoon—to receive secure communications regarding national security issues, a spokesman said at the time—and for an August trip to Fort Knox where the Treasury said he was on official business but critics say was a way for the pair to view the solar eclipse. Mnuchin reimbursed the government for Linton's travel on that trip. Linton faced backlash after she highlighted designer brands she wore while descending from the jet with her husband, then scolded a commenter who took issue with her post.
