While my Grandfather was in the service, he became pretty clever with what we know now as the “selfie” he would set up his timer on his camera & shoot pics of himself opening the love letters from my grandmother. He wrote notes on the back of each photo. There are 2 photos in this post, the front of the selfie & the notes on the back of the selfie. My grandmother wrote to him almost every day, that entire stack of mail was from her, he opened the piece by piece & shot photos to send back to her with his love letters, when we talked about the war, his #1 though was always my grandmother, their love & how much he missed her. I cherish all of the photos he gave me before he passed away. I have so much respect for all families living this type of life. Separated by service. The love I have seen is stronger than any love I could ever imagine! ??❤️#vetransday
