A few weeks ago, we went out to eat with another family of four. While we waited for our food, the kids giggled on one side of the table and the adults chatted on the other. Everyone was seated and happy, and we thought things were going swimmingly. Suddenly, a man across the restaurant let out a loud, startling sound. We all turned to see what was going on. The man bellowed, "IF I HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME!!!" We all sat there in a state of shock; even my husband, who is tough to leave speechless. Then the man at the table behind us came to our defense. "You are an a**hole," he said. "They're children." Which was kind of ironic given his language, but we were thankful for the support. The next time a stranger gives you unsolicited advice, tell them to call 1-833-MOM-TIPS, a hilarious tip line for people who think they know how all moms should parent.
