Today The Duke of Cambridge hosted an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, honouring deserving people from across the community.

Among today's recipients were Sheila and Trevor Fairhurst, who both received MBE's for founding the Carly Fund - a charity they established after their daughter died in 2006 as a result of domestic violence.

The Carly Fund raised £55,000 to enable local counselling service, Victim Support, in Wigan to continue. Trevor and Sheila continue to work in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and Lancashire Police, sharing their story and highlighting the issue of domestic violence.
