For this week’s installment of #TigersFanFridays, meet the Simms family.
Since 2014, the Simms family has made a point to watch the #Tigers at a new Major League Baseball stadium or two every year. With two kids, Beth says her goal is for the entire family to visit each stadium across the United States and Canada. “Once we had children, we wanted to give them experiences of the history in other cities,” Beth said. “Since the children love the Tigers we thought it would be great to experience the United States and Canada during Tigers’ road trips.” Beth and her husband both grew up in Royal Oak, MI, her husband having made his first trip to Tiger Stadium when he was 7 years old. The Simms family has been to many a game at Comerica Park, staying until the final out every time for her son.

So far the Simms family has been to eight different parks, with more on the horizon. They’ve had great experiences at every ballpark, Beth says.

Their favorite memory came in San Diego, when a Padres fan caught a Miguel Cabrera foul ball. The gentleman turned around to toss the ball 10 rows up to her son, who raised it high for everyone to see. “Our kids love the tradition and can't wait to find out where we will be going next!” Beth said. “It's been a great way to cheer on our beloved Detroit Tigers and take our kids to new and exciting places around the country.”
