Bobcat has to be one of the best looking lions I’ve ever come across. But that could be because I’m biased. Haven’t seen him in over two weeks because of my fund raising trip to Australia. Boy oh boy was he full of energy and excitement. So powerful yet so gentle. Somebody asked me on my trip if pictures like this send the wrong message. In my experience I’ve found that the majority of people understand that there’s hard earned trust and years of relationship building underlying this image and the good far outweighs the bad. The awareness I’ve been able to spread about the #cannedlionhunting industry and the plight of #lions in the wild, through images like this has been endless. Yes you will always get the few that might express their desire to own a lion but it’s pretty much like me seeing @バレンティーノ・ロッシ riding a @MotoGP bike on a Sunday and then expressing my desire to get one and be like him on the Monday. Truth is there’s no harm in inspiring people to achieve their goals and aspire to be better in life. And no petting lion cubs has nothing to do with this picture. If you want to go and pet Bobcat, I say go for it and good luck but a cub has no choice and petting it is purely a self indulgent activity, especially if you have no desire to look after it for the rest of its life.
