He did it!
@francois_dhaene succeeded in breaking the fastest known time on #JohnMuirTrail in California just five weeks after winning the 170km UTMB for the third time. He ran the 359km route in 2 days 19 hours and 26 minutes and arrived in Happy Isles over 12 hours faster than the previous record holder Leor Pantilat.
"I feel like I've had a great adventure and been lost in the middle of nowhere in stunning landscapes. It was completely different from an ultra-trail because you are running over several days. It is more of a race against yourself," says François.
François’ team members took turns in setting the pace and accompanying him on the trail. "I have spent a year preparing for the record attempt with a united team. They were the key people to my success and sometimes walked 5 hours on foot from the car to join me on the course – and then the same back.”
