Photos by @Tim Laman. Be bold! A Western Kingbird attacks a Red-tailed Hawk from above. This behavior, called “mobbing” is actually common when smaller birds feel threatened by a hawk and want to drive it away from their nest or territory. Being much more maneuverable in the air and coming from behind, the Kingbird knows the hawk has no chance to catch it. Swipe left to see the next shot when the Kingbird hits the hawk on the back and pecks it in the head!
