The mikoshi shrines were turned in front of the Okura House, which belonged to the founding family of Gekkeikan. To chants of “Mawase! Mawase!” (“Turn! Turn!”), the mikoshi shrines are widely rotated horizontally by the crowd of bearers. Large numbers of people came to see this dynamic ritual.
