“Failure” is an interesting concept. As an athlete, I’ve learned many times that perceived failures can teach important lessons and yield the strength necessary to achieve what one might be after. Often times, experiencing a fall or a misstep is an important stop on one’s journey to success. What I’m still learning is that success and failure are not always black and white. Success isn’t always glitter, glory and gold and failure isn’t always a tumble. Even now, I regularly fail when I doubt myself, when I succumb to negativity or listen to the voice saying, “you can’t.” Success isn’t always standing at the top. Some days, success is picking yourself up and saying, “Maybe I will. Maybe I won’t.
