Myanmar's fast-growing Rohingya refugee crisis is not the first to affect the region. As Magnum photographers have documented for more than 25 years, the Rohingya have long faced discrimination and violent repression. In 1992, Burma-born Chris Steele-Perkins photographed the flow of Rohyingya refugees into Bangladesh, which bears a striking similarity to the images coming out of the region over the last year.

We look at Steele-Perkins and Chien-Chi Chang's documentation of the Rohingya refugee crisis today on Magnum. Link in bio.
