Photo by @jonathan_irish // While climbing trees is unusual behavior for most lion prides, and lions are nowhere near as adept in trees as leopards, among some prides it seems to be a fairly common and learned behavior. The reasons why they do this are varied. Some think it is to get a better view or to catch the cooler breezes higher up, while others think they do it to escape the tsetse flies that can be more bothersome at ground level. Personally, I think a small part of the reason is just because it is fun. Why do you think they climb trees? Shot while on assignment for @natgeoexpeditions in Tanzania.
