The Urban Resource Institute in New York is one of the very few places in the U.S. that is able to accommodate victims AND their pets. Since 2013, they’ve partnered with @purina to help grow their pet-friendly program URIPALS (Urban
Resource Institute’s People and Animals Living Safely). This is important because studies show that 48% of domestic violence victims stay in abusive relationships out of fear of what would happen if they left their pets behind.
