Hugh didn't want this picture for the cover of the magazine but he granted me photo approval anyway. What a generous offer for someone to give when it's their magazine. Ya know, the one they built an empire on by skillfully selecting beautiful photos of women! • I think that spoke to Hugh's willingness to make sure women felt their absolute best and most beautiful at all times. And I did. I felt confident, relaxed, safe. I felt like a goddess. • After having my son, I was worried about getting back in shape and navigating the duality of being a mother/ life sustainer vs. a sensual woman. So when the offer to do Playboy came along again, I jumped at the challenge. The challenge to honor my sensual side while appreciating the complexities of womanhood as a Mother.• This shoot was a benchmark of achievement and personal growth for me. It is also one of the most memorable moments of my career.• In fact, there wasn't one encounter I had with Hugh that wasn't memorable. Maybe that was part of his success too. He gave people memorable experiences. His lifestyle was legendary and he invited you in.• One of my favorite memories at the mansion was bringing my parents to the pajama party. Not many people get the opportunity to take their parents to Hugh Hefner's house. They walked around with these strange vacant expressions on their faces almost like they just had laughing gas from the dentist. It was a combination of pleasant shock and awe. Women walked around naked covered only by artistic body paint, there were large cages with animals and birds, a separate aviary with a huge fish tank, the grotto.... on and on. Back at the house, In one room we discovered Jack Nicholson standing erect with his back against the wall seemingly hiding in an empty dark room. Eventually I caved to my extreme desire to meet him and introduced myself and parents. Poor guy. But he was very lovely and kind to us all. We still talk about that night and the thrill of it to this day.• Although I am sad to hear of his passing, I know he truly lived life to the fullest.
