Yesterday I had dinner with my friend in "Turandot" - a restaurent where one forgets they're in Moscow, because of it's Classic Roman style?
This place made me think about the beauty of Italian architecture and interior design in the movies: Bertolucci and Fellini's attraction towards amber, hight ceilings, loads of space, little furniture, huge beds and endless stairs?
Russian movies give you a completely different picture. And I think it's amazing because every culture should show it's unique characteristics? Most of the time the spectators with see one of these 3 types of interiors in a Russian movie: ?folk atmosphere somewhere in the village with small wooden houses, coziness, poverty, big Russian stoves, samovars and color?
?buildings built by Salin in 1950's: tall, with a parody on gothic peaks and Classic statues, beige and brown colors, a lot of wooden furniture, laces and crystal dinner-service?
?or very special atmosphere of a 5-floor buildings popular during Khrushev times with tiny messy kitchens, carpets on the walls, TVs, a lot of books and weird balconies?
