Help us raise both awareness and funds for the people who are recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and Irma in the US and the Caribbean islands. United Way Miami is coordinating efforts to help communities recover and rebuild following Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. 100% of all donations to Operation Helping Hands will go directly to supporting response efforts. As a native Floridian I've lived through many hurricanes (including the Category 5 Hurricane Andrew), but the level of destruction spreading across Texas, Florida and the Caribbean is astounding. It took my family months to rebuild and make our home habitable again after the eye of hurricane Andrew passed over us. And we were lucky because the roof stayed on our house. I know first hand how utterly hopeless so many hurricane survivors feel right now. My heart is breaking that I'm not in Florida and able to help the restoration efforts, but I hope to help in this way. I want to say this to everyone: You will get through this. You will rebuild stronger. You are not alone.
