These two baby tortoises (Greek tortoise and marginated tortoise) hatched at @ParcoNaturaViva in Italy. They’ll be spending their first year being cared for in the nursery before rejoining their family. These species are housed in “Chelonia”, a special area created in partnership with the @GreenTeenTeam, a non-profit foundation that is dedicated to the breeding of European tortoises, aiming to include these animals in a reintroduction project. Collection for the illegal pet trade and the loss of habitat due to human activities are the main threats for these species.
