Yesterday The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry visited the Support4Grenfell Community Hub and The Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre, Al-Manaar, in Kensington.
After The Grenfell Tower fire on 14 June 2017, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, like others, wanted to support the community. The Royal Foundation established the Support4Grenfell Community Hub to provide support to people affected by the tragedy. Opening yesterday, the hub is a centre point for Child Bereavement UK, Place2Be, The Art Room and Winston's Wish. Many of these charities have been working with local partners, schools, community groups within Kensington for some years.
Afterwards, TRH met members of the community at Al-Manaar – one of the first centres that responded to the tragedy on the night of 14 June.
Volunteers there co-ordinated other volunteers and offered food, water, shelter and counselling to survivors of the Grenfell fire. Many of these families lost ones in the tragedy and TRH heard how the centre continues to work with those affected to provide counselling, advice and a safe space.
