Photo by @michaelclarkphoto // The Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park is still one of the most spectacular places I have ever been to on this planet. The mountains around you are huge, scary and alive. We saw hundreds of avalanches over the three weeks we were on the glacier - and we spent a good chunk of that time in full white out conditions. One avalanche pretty much cleared the entire Moose's Tooth of fresh snow while we were there. It was like watching a small city slide off a mountain. In this image Denali rises 15,000 feet above our camp (top left). I realize for most folks camping on a glacier is pretty out there but if you get a chance, stop into Talkeetna and take a flight around Denali and the Ruth with one of the many bush pilots that fly climbers into the park.
