I am devastated to see my native Houston drowning under Hurricane Harvey. I thank God my family is safe, but many are not and have been evacuated. Houston is huge-- 2,200 sq miles of city with a population 3x that of Manhattan-- all under water. Despite my utter heartbreak watching the news and speaking to loved ones, one thing that brings love and hope is the generosity of its citizens and neighbors in HELPING EACH OTHER. Good samaritans can be seen carrying babies and elderly to safety. Animals are being rescued. People, despite their colour, immigration status, political beliefs, or social status are coming together to brace for impact. For me, as devastating as this is, it is a beacon of hope for the rest of the world. Thank you Houston for showing us what love and care look like. #houstonstrong #comehellorhighwater #GOHOMEHARVEY
