Lately I've been looking to friends, family, and creative outlets for moments of levity. This is my friend Emily Diana Ruth and we are making something really special together with our friend Jamie Miller (her beautiful portrait will be posted soon too). Emily is an incredibly talented director who I met almost exactly 5 years ago in August 2012 during LeakyCon Chicago (a Harry Potter and other literary inspired projects convention). I requested to audition for her film via twitter, she read me for the role during the convention, I got the part, and flew to Canada later that month to film The Water's Fine. That project was made possible by her family and dearest friends and could not have been more fun to work on together. We have remained friends ever since and have wanted to collaborate again. This has meant so much right now to have something creative to concentrate on, working with sincerely lovely and talented friends. I cannot wait to share the project with those who might be interested. We are launching an indiegogo campaign soon to invite you along for the ride if you'd like. This project is a labor of love and it is the first thing I have set out to help make that I had a hand in writing. It is a vulnerable thing to put yourself and your work out there to ask for help, so hopefully you will at the very least want to have a look at what we're up to and offer words of encouragement if you aren't able to be a backer of the film. We'll need lots of love along the way no matter what :) stay tuned!
