I'm still processing through the beautiful whirlwind of the #dcpenshow2017 and also still catching up on sleep as well as all the lovely posts, but I will say this: one thing that stood out was being greeted with so much kindness and warmth that it humbled and grew my heart. It's easy to take things for granted and forget what's important when we are in the bustle of daily life and deep in our own schedules and duties. But then to attend a show like this where so many gather together from all over, all I see are people's hearts, their blood, sweat and tears, their roots and history, their stories, tragedies and triumphs, and most of all their resilience, good humor and extreme generosity. How can one not be touched and changed for the better by it? Thank you to all who made this year so memorable and special, for going out of your way to say hello, and for also making my son feel right at home and part of the experience too. ❤️
