On a recent evening, at the Cooper Hewitt, one child discovered the whirling pleasure of the “Spun Chair,” designed by Thomas Heatherwick, in 2010. Every Thursday, until August 24th, the museum hosts an outdoor party on its terrace, an all-ages affair with music and a cash bar for the cocktail set.
