My Entrepreneurs Happy Saturday to you all. Please read word for word.
Since @karowenu this journey 11yrs to help as many entrepreneurs kick start their businesses, I have disbursed a total of N47million Naira. I only started on social media (Instagram) in 2015 with 6 winners and 6,000,000 so far. I am very proud of what I am doing and I am going to do much more.
However, my team and I have been doing a lot of analysis of how the recipients have done so far. The result is sad. I will not go into intricate details but only 15% of recipients are actually running the business they needed capital for.
And I asked myself Why?
Am I funding the right people?
Am I just giving out money to people that need it for personal things rather than the business?
Are Nigerian entrepreneurs worth the time and investment?
The first two questions; I might not have the answers, but for the third, I said to myself, yes they are because I believe so much in the potential of the young entrepreneurs in Nigeria striving to make a change.
So going forward, I am going to start screening who I give start up funds to. Some of the criterias are as follows;
1. How much is your actual capital investment and how much is your working capital?
2. Do you have a team or are you working alone
3.Is your idea market ready?
4.Does your business fall into the SME category?
This questions will enable us help the right people so that in a year or two, we can show the world what success looks like.
And before I forget, it is quite disheartening that some of our previous recipients keep on buzzing my phone asking for money.
Please stop it.I'm not an ATM. I choose to help in business not personal life unless I am disposed to.

I have my own life to worry about. So if you continue to buzz my phone for money, I will publish everything on my page so everyone knows who the beggars are.
To close this long post, I want to reiterate that I am here to help genuine entrepreneurs with great ideas achieve their dreams and move up in life.
