A private suite. 3 walks a day. 20 minutes of “cuddle time” at bedtime. High-end pet hotels like @otpetresorts in Rockville, Maryland — where @justingellerson took this photo of Bella taking a disgruntled dip — aim to match the service and amenities of high-end human hotels. “We have dog swimming, an indoor track, cardio-joggers for dogs,” said the owner, Leah Fried Sedwick. For $40, a dog can have a “water workout and lap swim.” The Iron Dog workout — jog, swim and field play — is twice as much. A blueberry facial goes for $10, a mud bath treatment is $30 to $50 and a “pawicure” is $15. (Want nail polish applied to your pooch’s paws? Double the price.) Last year, Americans spent nearly $6 billion on pet grooming and boarding. Still, some go a little further than others. @chateaupoochie has themed rooms, like the Royal Tea Suite, which has a chandelier and costs $199 a night. If a dog has trouble sleeping, a staff member will sleep next to it — for $200 a night. Then there’s @thedogstore, which caters to those with private jets. “You want your dog to be relaxed,” said Edward Alava, the owner. “You give your dog a whole day of beauty: the lavender bath, grooming, teeth-brushing, a massage.” The cost starts at $350 and runs as high as $1,500 for flight prep. Or for a more budget-friendly option, just take your dog to the park. #?
