Here is one of the many examples of why we must ban declawing and keep all kitties safe from being declawed. This is a post from an American Association of Feline Practitioners "Cat Friendly" practice from 2013 and they are still putting out this lies to the public and promoting declawing on their fb page. A declaw IS a "biggie", in fact it is the inhumane and barbaric amputation of the last toe bone and claw on a cat's paw!???
This practice also lies about how declawing is performed on their website and says, "The declaw procedure is a surgical removal of the claw. Contrary to rumors and misinformed sources, declawing is not the removal of any of the actual toe itself, just the claw."
Wow! How unethical is that? AND this "Cat Friendly" practice even had a drawing to give away a FREE declaw at a kitten adoption event! ?? This practice did a post last month with a video of a declawed cat that said, "As long as you have a declaw done at a younger age they do great." ?
Why isn't this practice doing posts on their fb page that say they recommend sturdy scratching posts, nail trims, soft paws, and deterrents instead of recommending having your kittens toe bones amputated at a young age?
And the unethical folks at AAFP "Cat Unfriendly" organization don't care if one of their "Cat Friendly" practices is lying to the public about declawing or promoting it on their fb page. Please take the high road and never threaten anyone. It's wrong and plus they will play the victim and we know the only victims are these kittens that are unnecessarily and inhumanely having their toes and claws amputated.
