DAY7 (June 26th) Letting Go Of My "VICE" - I got the nickname frm being teased at my all girl HS after losing alot weight & the attention frm our bro school. I always said I took this neg & turned it to a positive ...but did I really? Or was i jus throwing it in the faces of the girls who teased me? Wouldn't that be cross neg ? JV the brand has opened up many doors, from major covers,billboard ads, leads in music videos, tv hosting & acting. However, "good or bad" VICE is still an ADDICTION & for the beginning part of my career that addiction was sexy, flirty, racy pics w no message/direction. It wasn’t until 2yrs ago that I started shifting my energy to use my platform to deliver powerful messages in hopes to inspire others w my story: #iSurvivedDV, #iUsedToBe200lbs & now w #100HappyDays ! Someone asked me if I'd give up VICE for a “normal life?" YES if normal meant letting go of VICE bc I generally live a normal life & my goal would still be the same: HELPING OTHERS. Funny thing is I never pursued this industry, it pursued me! Im proud to say I never allowed it to change me into someone I'm not. Nor have I fallen into its pressures or taken the easy way. I see the lack of role models it has & I just want to be a big sister, a friendly neighbor who hopefully motivates & inspires others. So today I decided in order to share w u my message authentically I had to be authentic by getting rid of vice bc there's more to me than what meets the eye. I AM JESSENIA - the hard working woman, the God fearing woman, the family woman, the loving woman, the educated woman. A daughter to loving parents that raised me old school.
