My name is Noah Patnaude and I am 19 years old. I first came into care when I was 14 years old. I have been through a lot since I have been in foster. I have lived in 7 different homes and went to 7 different high schools. 3 of those moves happened in a matter of a month. I have 3 potential adoptions fall through for reasons I don't know. For me I have always tried to stay positive about being a foster youth and going through that really kept me down for a little bit. Despite everything I have graduated High School and am now in College to become a Behavioral Health Professional. Since being in foster a lot of opportunities have been opened up for me. I am apart of a statewide group that helps youth use their voice to advocate for themselves and to make sure that their needs are being met. I love the Fosters because I can relate to so many of the situations that go on in the show. I am glad there's a show that shows the true light of foster care because a lot of people think that youth in foster care are bad people but really we are not. We are just looking to be loved and cared for and to be accepted for who we are. We are just looking for that family that claims us as their own and that will love us and care for us no matter what happens. With the show the Fosters it brings up real life situations that youth go through whether it's struggling with getting a youth adopted or a youth runs away it brings a new meaning to foster care and I think it makes people realize we aren't bad people. I think it gets them to realize that we just want love and to be cared for. Thank you for having the show because again it brings a whole new meaning to foster care.
