"The key to persevering through seasons of pruning is remaining confident in God's purpose". - @stevenfurtick ?? I always want to be better than the person I was yesterday. I want to grow to become the woman God has called me to be. I feel I often fail all the tests to do so, though. Growth is hard and messy. Often, I prefer to tell God how I think this "growing process" should look like--and it normally doesn't involve as many (if any?) trials, tests and challenges. I normally envision the road to maturity and character-building as being encouraging, loving and hopefully relatively easy (just being honest). I've done some of my best growing in seasons of setbacks. Sometimes something seemingly bad happens and I'm so quick to think "why me" or "this isn't what I want"...I don't pause enough to just say "thank you, God, for what you will teach me in this trial and for shaping me" I've felt a pressure lately to be better but to get there without making any mistakes, or without anyone seeing me have a bad day or attitude. I'm the champ so I'm not supposed to have or show weaknesses at this point. It's so silly and I know better than to have this mindset. But I'm sharing this messy post in faith, because I believe we relate to each other in our struggles and we must be vulnerable in order to connect. Maybe others are going through a trial or growing phase too..and maybe only posting the highlights of my days isn't actually very encouraging or relatable for someone. Maybe you feel like you're stuck in situation where your circumstances aren't changing, and like me, you're beginning to realize the only thing left is to change one's self. So here's to new lessons, new mistakes, new attempts at getting it right, not giving up, being authentic, and most importantly being so thankful that God's purpose and plans are way better than our own. He'll bring us through it. We're more than conquerors ❤️ #TGIF #faith #jesus
