Hollyhock House (@hollyhockhouse) in Los Angeles, California, was built for Aline Barnsdall between 1919-1921, and named after Barnsdall's favorite flower. Frank Lloyd Wright was asked to incorporate the flower into the home's design—he used abstract iterations of the hollyhocks and added them on the frieze of the house's West Facade to provide ornamentation and emphasize the horizontal architectural lines. #FrankLloydWrightFridays #FLW150
