A scene of Harry Potter or the Lord of the Rings?! These trees look truly unearthly, like made by a fantasy world, specially at night when silhouetted against starry sky. The twisted bristlecone pines are some of the oldest livings on Earth. This one in California is over 3000 years old. They grow at high altitudes of about 10,000 ft where the night sky is filled with stars. Here the summer Milky Way appears in constellation Scorpion. Saturn and Antares (orange) are the brighter spots.
