In the winter we stood on this lake, with nothing but a white-out of snow and ice around us. Now we’re panting, tongues out, drinking every drop until the sun sets and wetting our feet in the endless fields of summer grass, clothing optional.

Often when I’m on a road trip, and faced with a sudden rain storm, my inner pessimist gets the best of me – I somehow conclude that the entire remainder of my drive will be stormy. I’m often wrong, the sun comes out a few hours later, and there I am with renewed certainty that this is the new normal – the rest of my trip will be sunny. And then it rains again.

There’s no better reminder of change than the weather. It’s good to remember that the weather isn’t a bad thing, and it isn’t a good thing – it’s only a sure thing. A good day is often made by inviting the change and embracing the uncertainty, regardless of the weather. And dress accordingly.
