Photo @materas // It seems like I wait all year for wildflower season in the Cascades, which on a good year might last for two weeks from late July through early August! Last year was a little disappointing for wildflowers in the Cascades, with this blossoming steeplebush below Mt. Rainier at sunset being a good exception. I've shot near this spot many times but never seen this steeplebush in bloom. Thankfully the conditions were perfect with some beautiful color in the clouds to match the flowers.
