I'm just going to begin by saying this: Every time I post about great work being done in other countries I get hate. I know we have hardship right here in America, I know people need jobs, healthcare, help. I'm not negating that, and we do help people right here in our country, but I am going to just say it right now, the kind of poverty that is happening in other parts of the world we cannot even imagine. This month marks 10 years of @helponenow working tirelessly to come alongside local leaders all over the world to truly rescue kids out of ditches, feed starving children, provide life-saving drugs to mothers to prevent more orphans, build schools where there isn't one for miles, provide loans to start businesses and on and on. My life was interrupted by the @helponenow story when I travelled to Ethiopia in 2014 and the local leader Aschelow said to me "we love our babies, we just can't afford to keep them." I went into the homes of mamas just like you and me who were having to feed their children every other day because that was all they had, who's 8 year old couldn't go to school because he had to work in the fields and they couldn't afford the $15 for books and a uniform. Mamas who were suffering the devastating effects of HIV because they didn't have access to or couldn't afford the drugs they needed to stay alive. I met these mamas, went into their homes. They are you and me. Can you imagine having to make those choices? Waking up everyday unsure of how you were going to feed your babies? I have since travelled to Uganda, Haiti, Dominican and Willie has been in Peru with @helponenow met the incredible local leaders in these countries fighting for their people and I believe whole-heartedly in the work @helponenow is doing. We all have struggles, life can get hard, but I can tell you this world is a lot bigger than the problems you or I are facing today and WE can make a difference!!
