@giannicipriano photographed a Venice Biennale exhibition space still under construction inside the Arsenale, where ships were once built in #Venice. In 2015, @labiennale with Okwui Enwezor as curator felt a bit like a political manifesto, with readings from Marx’s “Das Kapital” and work that touched on climate change, colonialism and the refugee crisis. But the curator of this year’s #Biennale, Christine Macel, wants to put artists and artistic practice at the center. Christine, 48, is the chief curator of @centrepompidou in Paris. In the often-insular French art world, she’s known for traveling to find artists to introduce to French audiences. She’s the 4th woman in @labiennale’s 122-year history to curate the international exhibition. One of the most prestigious shows in the world, @labiennale drew half a million visitors in 2015.
