Lately my son and I have been talking about the power and weight of words, whether they are words we think and speak over ourselves or words spoken about others. And pardon if I mom gush for minute, but something he recently said struck me. When we were out at our usual cafe stop, he overheard two adults next to us and it was obvious they were discussing a person not to their liking. Later on in the car he asked me, "Mommy, why were those people saying mean things about someone?" And before I could articulate my response, he then said, "They should talk about positive things and stop saying mean stuff." And I had absolutely nothing to add to that thought. Sometimes I think that some of the best sage-like wisdom in the world is tucked in the heart of the six year olds out there. I know that for me I am continuously reminded of truths as well as learning new things from the valiant heart of my six year old too. • -
