Photo by @FransLanting “Rebirth” I share this in celebration of Earth Day. New forests of coastal redwoods are growing tall again close to where I live in Santa Cruz, California. They were nearly wiped out in the 19th century when forests were clearcut for the construction boom in San Francisco. California’s oldest state park was established in 1902 in the Santa Cruz Mountains to save the last giants. To create this image, I used hidden strobes to illuminate a cathedral of majestic redwood trees. To learn more about my creative techniques for plant photography, watch my video @FransLanting.
